A Scholarship award for Valley High-School Graduates
Welcome to the Bridger Valley Chamber of Commerce Stars & Stripes Enlistment Award page! In our commitment to support the young men and women of our community who have chosen to serve our country, we are proud to offer this scholarship to high school seniors from Lyman and Mountain View who have enlisted in the United States military.
About the Award
The Stars & Stripes Enlistment Award recognizes the dedication and commitment of future service members, providing financial support to assist with their educational goals. This $500 scholarship is awarded to one senior in Lyman and one senior in Mountain View, aiming to ease the transition from high school to their service commitment.
Eligibility

Must be a high school senior from Lyman or Mountain View.

Have enlisted in any branch of the United States military with an enlistment date set for boot camp.

Demonstrate academic effort, community involvement, and a clear sense of purpose in their future military career.
How to apply
Interested candidates must submit:

A completed application form.

Proof of military enlistment.

A personal essay (250 words max).

Two letters of recommendation.

Official high school transcript.
Application Deadline
All applications must be postmarked between May 1st and July 1st. Late submissions will not be considered.

Selection Process
Recipients are selected through a blind approval process based on their military enlistment, academic performance, personal essay, letters of recommendation, and demonstrated potential. The Chamber board ensures a fair and impartial selection, with members related to applicants recused from voting.
